China Frees Orange County Pastor David Lin After 17 Years in Prison
Sep 15, 2024, 08:03 PM
China has released 68-year-old American pastor David Lin, an Orange County resident, who had been imprisoned since 2006 on charges of contract fraud. The U.S. government has long claimed that Lin was wrongfully detained. His release on Sunday marks the end of a 17-year imprisonment, during which he was serving a life sentence. Lin has returned to the United States, reuniting with his family for the first time in nearly two decades. The State Department confirmed his release, highlighting that Lin was one of three U.S. citizens deemed to have been wrongfully detained by Beijing.
