Musk is reportedly renting the Banyan cottage, located a few hundred feet from Trump's main residence, for $2,000 per night. This arrangement provides Musk with close proximity to Trump, allowing him to participate in policy discussions, personnel meetings, and informal gatherings during the presidential transition. Musk's involvement has extended to vetting senior administration candidates, engaging in phone calls with foreign leaders, and contributing $250 million to Trump's campaign.
