OpenAI Unveils GPT-4o: Faster, Multimodal AI Model with 175 Billion Parameters Now Free for All Users
May 14, 2024, 04:33 PM
OpenAI has unveiled its latest AI model, GPT-4o, which offers significant advancements over its predecessor, GPT-4. The new model, also known as 'GPT-4 omni,' is multimodal, capable of processing and generating text, audio, and images. It features a faster response time of approximately 320 milliseconds for audio inputs, making it comparable to human conversation speed. GPT-4o is also twice as fast as GPT-4 Turbo, supports 50 different languages, and is more efficient, with a 50% reduction in usage costs. Additionally, it has a context window of 128K tokens and enhanced capabilities in non-English languages, vision, and audio tasks. The model boasts 175 billion parameters and offers real-time reasoning across modalities. GPT-4o is available for free to all ChatGPT users and will be integrated into various OpenAI products, including a new desktop app for macOS and OmniGPT.
