Disney+ Expands Paid Sharing Program Globally, Costs $6.99/Month
Sep 25, 2024, 07:35 PM
Disney+ has officially expanded its paid sharing program globally, including the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative aims to curb password sharing by introducing a fee for users who share their accounts with individuals outside their households. The new policy requires users to pay an additional $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic and $9.99 per month for Disney+ Premium to add an extra member. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the password sharing crackdown, following similar actions taken by other streaming services like Netflix, as Disney seeks to convert password-borrowers into paying customers. The paid sharing program allows subscribers to manage who accesses their accounts, ensuring that only authorized users can utilize the service.
