Jane Doe Accuses Jay-Z and Diddy of Rape at 2000 MTV VMAs, Admits Inconsistencies
Dec 14, 2024, 05:00 AM
A woman from Alabama, identified as Jane Doe in legal documents, has accused Jay-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs of raping her when she was 13 years old at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000. She claims she was given a drink that made her feel 'woozy and lightheaded' and was subsequently assaulted by both rappers. However, she has acknowledged several inconsistencies in her account. Her father does not recall picking her up after the alleged assault, which would have required a five-hour drive. Additionally, she claimed to have spoken with musicians Benji Madden and his brother at the party, but their representatives confirmed they were on tour in the Midwest at the time. Photos also show Jay-Z and Diddy at a different location than described in her story. Despite these inconsistencies, Jane Doe stands by her allegations. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the accusations, calling them 'idiotic' and 'heinous in nature,' and his attorney, Alex Spiro, has moved to dismiss the lawsuit, criticizing the lack of proper vetting by the accuser's legal team, Tony Buzbee from Houston. Combs, currently in custody on federal sex trafficking charges, has also denied the allegations. Jane Doe has agreed to submit to a polygraph test to support her claims. Both Jay-Z and Diddy launched their respective record labels, Roc-A-Fella and Bad Boy Records, around the same time.
