North Korea Sends 11,000 Troops to Ukraine in Exchange for Missiles, Says South Korea
Nov 22, 2024, 07:05 AM
South Korea's National Intelligence Service has reported that North Korea has deployed approximately 11,000 troops to Russia, integrating them into Russian Airborne and Marine units stationed in the western Kursk Oblast. Some of these soldiers have already engaged in combat against Ukraine and have sustained casualties. In return, Russia has provided North Korea with economic support, anti-air missiles, air defense equipment, and financial assistance. South Korea's National Security Adviser Shin Won-sik disclosed this information, highlighting concerns over the deepening military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. Additionally, North Korea has supplied Russia with self-propelled howitzers, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles, further intensifying their alliance amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
