Adobe Launches TransPixar: Open-Source AI for Transparent Video Generation Using 484 Training Clips
Jan 9, 2025, 01:28 PM
Adobe has released TransPixar, an open-source AI model capable of generating videos with transparent backgrounds directly from text prompts. This innovative technology allows users to create video footage that includes an alpha channel, making it easier to composite various elements in video editing tools. TransPixar was developed in collaboration with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is expected to significantly enhance the visual effects (VFX) industry by enabling seamless integration of transparent elements such as smoke and reflections into scenes. The model was trained using 484 clips and incorporates LoRA technology, providing users with a quick and efficient solution for VFX, stock elements, and memes. The release includes a demo and links to the code for users to experiment with the new capabilities.
