Teddy Bridgewater Returns to Lions After Coaching High School to State Title
Dec 26, 2024, 05:50 PM
Veteran NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is coming out of retirement and is expected to sign with the Detroit Lions for his second stint with the team, confirmed by head coach Dan Campbell. Bridgewater, 32, recently led his high school alma mater, Miami Northwestern, to a Florida state championship as head coach. Campbell stated, "It just brings a level of professionalism," highlighting that he has been in contact with Bridgewater for a while and that the quarterback has stayed in shape. The coach emphasized that the signing is not a reflection of any disappointment with rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker's development. Bridgewater previously spent the 2023 season with the Lions, and his return provides veteran depth as the team makes a playoff push.
