Jan 10, 2025, 08:16 AM
On Friday afternoon around 3:45 p.m., a 22-year-old female second-year sociology student attacked classmates with a hammer during a lecture at Hosei University's Tama Campus in Tokyo's Machida City, injuring at least eight people aged between 19 and 22. The suspect, a Korean national, was apprehended at the scene and arrested on suspicion of assault. She reportedly used a hammer found at the school to carry out the attack. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were conscious when transported to the hospital. The lecture, held in Building 4 and attended by approximately 100 students, was in progress when the incident occurred. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the attack.
