Nikhil Gupta Extradited to US Over Plot to Kill American-Canadian Sikh Separatist
Jun 17, 2024, 02:12 AM
Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national, has been extradited to the United States from the Czech Republic. Gupta is accused of being involved in an unsuccessful plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, an American-Canadian citizen and founder of the pro-Khalistan outfit Sikhs For Justice, on American soil. The extradition follows Gupta's arrest in Prague last June. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. The plot, which was allegedly a murder-for-hire scheme, has drawn significant attention due to its transnational implications. Gupta was extradited on June 16.
