Tesla Inc. is in early discussions with the city of Austin, Texas, about deploying its autonomous vehicle technology, with plans to potentially roll out a robotaxi service as early as 2025. Emails obtained through public records requests indicate that Tesla has been communicating with Austin's autonomous vehicle task force since at least May to establish safety expectations for the vehicles.
