Israeli Forces Raid Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, Kill 5 Medical Staff Amid Siege
Dec 27, 2024, 10:12 AM
Israeli forces have raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, following airstrikes that killed at least 53 people, including five medical staff members. The hospital, located in Beit Lahiya, has been under siege, with Israeli forces ordering the evacuation of all medical personnel, patients, and others inside the facility. The airstrikes targeted a building opposite the hospital, resulting in the deaths of three medical staff members among the casualties. The hospital director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, reported that the facility has been under sustained attack, with tanks and quadcopter machine guns advancing into the area. Nearly 75 patients are currently in the hospital's courtyard under dire conditions. The Israeli military has denied knowledge of the strikes on the hospital but is investigating claims of the deaths of medical staff. Additionally, there are reports that the hospital director is being threatened with arrest.
