Israel Orders Evacuation of al-Nuseirat and al-Bureij Camps After Strikes Kill 12 in Gaza
Oct 5, 2024, 10:10 AM
On Saturday morning, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) ordered the evacuation of residents from specific areas in central Gaza, including the al-Nuseirat and al-Bureij refugee camps. According to IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Colonel Avichay Adraee, leaflets were dropped in these areas instructing Palestinian civilians to relocate to designated humanitarian zones. The military is reportedly preparing to use "great force" against Hamas fighters in the region. The evacuation order affects areas where hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons have sought refuge, aiming to prevent residents from returning to their homes in North Gaza and Gaza City. Palestinian families have been seen fleeing from these camps following the latest directives. The evacuation comes as attacks on Nuseirat have killed 12 Palestinians.
