IDF Releases Footage of Sinwar Hiding Before Oct 7 Attacks and Tank Strike Killing Him in Rafah
Oct 19, 2024, 06:03 PM
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have released footage detailing the elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The videos show Israeli Merkava IV Main Battle Tanks firing at a building in Rafah's Tel Sultan neighborhood on October 16, where Sinwar was reportedly hiding. Additional footage depicts Sinwar and his family, including his wife and children, moving supplies such as food, water, a television, and pillows into underground tunnels in Khan Yunis on October 6, hours before the October 7 attacks on Israel. The IDF claims that Sinwar orchestrated the attacks while hiding beneath his home, leaving civilians above ground. The release includes thermal images of Sinwar and photos of the tunnel where he stayed. IDF Chief Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari presented the declassified footage during a press conference, highlighting that Sinwar prioritized his own safety while endangering others.
