Hezbollah Fires Rockets at Ramat David Airbase in Retaliation for Airstrikes in Lebanon
Sep 22, 2024, 12:16 AM
Hezbollah has launched a series of rocket attacks on Israel's Ramat David Airbase, located southeast of Haifa, in retaliation for repeated Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. The attacks, which involved dozens of Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 missiles, were in response to Israeli actions that have led to civilian casualties in Lebanon. This marks the first attack on the Ramat David Airbase since 2006. Israeli officials believe the target was the airbase, which houses F-16C/D squadrons and drones operated by the Israeli Air Force. Sirens were activated across northern Israel, and most of the projectiles were intercepted by the Israeli Defense Forces, with one impact detected. Hezbollah's statement emphasized that the attacks were a response to the deaths of Lebanese civilians and not a reprisal for any specific incident. Additionally, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacks on six Israeli bases, including the Jezreel Valley and Mishar base.
