Texas Removes Over 1.1 Million Ineligible Voters, Including 500,000 Dead People
Aug 26, 2024, 02:40 PM
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced the removal of over 1.1 million ineligible voters from the state's voter rolls since 2021. This initiative is part of efforts to enhance election integrity, as Abbott emphasized the importance of safeguarding elections from illegal voting. The removed voters include noncitizens, deceased individuals, and those who have moved out of state. The governor also highlighted that 6,500 noncitizens were removed, with 1,930 of them having a voting history, and 500,000 were dead people. This action follows the implementation of Senate Bill 1, aimed at strengthening election laws in Texas.
