Chinese 'Spy' Linked to Prince Andrew Named as Banned Businessman Yang Tengbo
Dec 16, 2024, 02:24 PM
A suspected Chinese spy who became a close confidant of Britain's Prince Andrew has been publicly named as 50-year-old Yang Tengbo, also known as Chris Yang, after a High Court judge lifted an anonymity order. Previously referred to as H6, Yang, a Chinese businessman and former government official, was banned from entering the UK over national security concerns earlier this year. He allegedly cultivated relationships with prominent figures, including former Prime Ministers David Cameron, Theresa May, and George Osborne, and was involved in business dealings with Prince Andrew, including helping to broker Gordonstoun's expansion in China. Buckingham Palace has launched an investigation into the matter. Yang has denied the allegations of espionage, stating, "I have done nothing wrong or unlawful" and that he loves Britain. The revelations have renewed scrutiny on Prince Andrew and caused embarrassment to the royal family.
