Ubisoft Delays 'Assassin's Creed Shadows' to February 14, 2025 Amid 'Star Wars Outlaws' Underperformance
Sep 25, 2024, 04:07 PM
Ubisoft has announced a delay in the release of 'Assassin's Creed Shadows' to February 14, 2025, from its originally planned November 15, 2024, release date. The company cited the need for additional time to polish and refine the game as the primary reason for the delay. This decision follows the underperformance of 'Star Wars Outlaws,' which has led Ubisoft to adjust its financial guidance for FY2024-25, with Q2 FY2024-25 net bookings expected around €350-370M. As part of the changes, Ubisoft has also canceled its online presence at the Tokyo Game Show and press previews for 'Assassin's Creed Shadows.' The game will now launch on Steam on the same day as other platforms, and Ubisoft is moving away from the traditional Season Pass model. The company aims to improve the quality of its releases based on learnings from 'Star Wars Outlaws.'
