Germany Reaches Limit of Military Aid to Ukraine, Will Not Send Taurus Missiles
May 25, 2024, 10:33 AM
Germany has announced on May 24 that it will not transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine, citing the inability of Ukrainians to program them and the risk of escalation if German soldiers were sent. Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated on May 25 that Berlin has given Kiev all the help it could, emphasizing the need to avoid turning the conflict into a war between Russia and NATO. Despite reaching the limit of its ability to provide military assistance, Germany recently announced a new aid package including tanks, artillery shells, and drones for Ukraine.
