Alabama Board of Trustees Approves Renaming Bryant-Denny Stadium Field to Honor Nick Saban
Jul 19, 2024, 04:07 PM
The University of Alabama's Board of Trustees has officially approved the renaming of the football field at Bryant-Denny Stadium to 'Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium' in honor of legendary head coach Nick Saban. This decision was made during a meeting on July 19, 2024, and the dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 7, 2024, during the game against USF. Early renderings of the new signage have been released. Nick Saban expressed his gratitude, calling it a 'very special honor' and acknowledging the hard work and example set by the community, university, and program. UA President Stuart Bell commented, 'It is fitting that there will be another name of a transformational leader added to our name of greatness.' The renaming recognizes Saban's transformative impact on Alabama football.
