On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' appeal to move his Georgia election interference case from state court to federal court. Meadows, who served under former President Donald Trump, sought the move to mount immunity arguments, asserting that his actions were performed as a federal official. The Supreme Court's decision leaves Meadows, one of 19 defendants charged in the case, to stand trial in Georgia state court over allegations of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state.
