The system is forecast to become a strong Category 2 hurricane with sustained winds of up to 110 mph before making landfall on the west coast of Florida by midweek, potentially near Tampa. Rapid intensification is likely, and the storm may even reach major hurricane status. Heavy rain, storm surge, and significant flooding are anticipated across the Florida Peninsula, with impacts expected to be felt statewide. There is a 90% chance of development, with a landfall expected on Wednesday. Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to prepare immediately.
