Jan 10, 2025, 04:03 AM
Tesla Inc. has officially launched a revamped version of its Model Y electric SUV in China, marking the first major update to the vehicle since its initial release in 2020. The new Model Y, unofficially referred to as 'Juniper', features a redesigned exterior and upgraded interior, aiming to regain market share from local competitors like Xiaomi. The vehicle is available in two variants: a rear-wheel drive model starting at 263,500 yuan ($35,940) and a long-range all-wheel drive model at 303,500 yuan ($41,580), representing a 5.4% price increase over the previous models. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March, pending regulatory approval. The updated Model Y boasts an increased range of up to 719 kilometers for the long-range version, along with enhancements such as a new front light bar, ventilated seats, and a second-row touchscreen.
