VisitTesla's May Sales Surge: 72,573 Vehicles in China, 55,215 Domestic

Tesla's vehicle sales data for May 2024 has been released, showing significant activity in both Europe and China. In Europe, Tesla sold a combined 33,900 vehicles in April and May 2024, compared to 45,300 vehicles in the first two months of Q1 2024. In China, Tesla sold 72,573 vehicles in May, with 55,215 sold domestically and 17,358 exported. This marks a 76% increase in domestic sales from April. Additionally, Tesla's market share in China for May was reported at 3.2%, with Model Y being the second best-selling car. The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) also noted that China's retail sales of passenger vehicles decreased by 1.9% year-over-year to 1.71 million units in May, while NEV retail sales increased by 38.5% year-over-year to 804,000 units. Tesla's Q2 2024 delivery estimate is 421,071 vehicles. In Hong Kong, Tesla reported 616 sales in May.
