Steve Bannon Released from Prison One Week Before Election Day, Resumes 'War Room' Podcast
Oct 29, 2024, 12:06 PM
Steve Bannon, former adviser to President Donald Trump, was released from FCI Danbury federal prison in Connecticut on Tuesday after serving a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress. Convicted for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot investigation, Bannon's release comes exactly one week before Election Day, potentially reintroducing a key voice into the political landscape. Upon his release, he was greeted by his daughter Maureen. Bannon reportedly taught history and American government classes while incarcerated. He is expected to resume hosting his "War Room" podcast at 10 a.m. and will hold a press conference at Manhattan's Regency Hotel at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. "I'm not broken, I'm empowered," Bannon stated.
