Leila Pereira, 60, has been re-elected as president of Palmeiras for a new three-year term, extending her leadership of the Brazilian football club until December 2027. In the election held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, she secured 2,295 votes against 858 votes for her opponent, Savério Orlandi, with 30 blank votes cast by the club's associates. Pereira, considered the most powerful woman in Brazilian football and the first woman to command Palmeiras, has overseen the club's capture of seven trophies over the past three years.
