Jeremiah Smith's record-breaking performance propelled No. 3 Ohio State to a commanding 45-0 victory over Purdue. Smith, a true freshman wide receiver, surpassed Cris Carter's Ohio State freshman records for receptions, yards, and touchdown catches, recording six receptions for 87 yards and his ninth receiving touchdown of the season by halftime. He has now scored a touchdown in every game but one this season. The Buckeyes secured their first shutout against a Big Ten opponent since 2017 and their second shutout of the season, dominating the game in all phases. Key plays included a blocked punt that set up an early touchdown run by Will Howard, a scoop-and-score by Jack Sawyer, and a 10-yard touchdown pass from Will Howard to Emeka Egbuka.
