Lithuania Urges NATO to Shoot Down Russian Drones in Baltic Region After Latvia Incident
Sep 12, 2024, 10:09 AM
Lithuania has urged NATO to adopt a more aggressive stance towards Russian drones entering Alliance territory in the Baltics. Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas has called for changes to NATO’s air patrol mission following the recent downing of a Russian military drone in Latvia. Kasčiūnas emphasized the need for NATO air policing to not only patrol but also to shorten the decision-making chain, enabling immediate action to destroy drones if necessary, reports LRT.
