$MSTR Plans $42 Billion Bitcoin Purchase, $21 Billion New Shares

MicroStrategy ($MSTR) has announced plans to raise $42 billion over the next three years to purchase Bitcoin. CEO Phong Le discussed this ambitious strategy during the latest earnings call, noting that the decision was inspired by the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. MicroStrategy currently holds 252,220 BTC and aims to significantly increase its holdings. This move aligns with the company's broader strategy to leverage Bitcoin's growth potential. Michael Saylor, a prominent Bitcoin advocate, emphasized that Bitcoin has superior attributes compared to gold and reiterated his commitment to acquiring more Bitcoin. Additionally, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick revealed that he has hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin exposure, which he expects to grow into billions. The equity plan also includes selling $21 billion in new shares to bolster its Bitcoin stockpile. Meanwhile, Franklin Templeton's CEO has also expressed strong belief in Bitcoin.
