VisitMcDonald's $MCD to End AI Drive-Thru Test with IBM by July 26

McDonald's has decided to end its two-year partnership with IBM, which aimed to test AI-powered voice ordering technology (AOT) at drive-thrus. The fast-food giant plans to remove the technology from over 100 restaurants by July 26, 2024. The decision follows mixed results and customer complaints about errant orders, such as adding bacon to ice cream. Despite the setback, McDonald's remains open to exploring voice ordering solutions in the future and continues to see potential in AI for its operations.
