Kenya's National Assembly Passes Kes 346.7 Billion Finance Bill 2024 in 195-106 Vote
Jun 25, 2024, 11:35 AM
Kenya's National Assembly has passed the Finance Bill 2024 in a record time of less than two hours. The bill, which aims to raise an additional Kes 346.7 billion in revenue for the 2024/25 fiscal year, was adopted largely by Kenya Kwanza leaders despite opposition from Azimio MPs, who boycotted the vote. The final vote count at the Third Reading was 195 in favor, 106 against, with 3 spoil votes. The bill now awaits Presidential assent from President Ruto.
