Rep. Nancy Mace to Introduce Resolution Calling for 25th Amendment After Biden's Withdrawal
Jul 22, 2024, 12:35 AM
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) will introduce a resolution on Monday in the House calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment. The resolution follows President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race on Sunday. Mace argues that if Biden does not have the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he does not have the cognitive ability to serve the remainder of his term. The 25th Amendment, under section 4, allows a majority of the Cabinet to remove a president they deem incapacitated.
