Joel Embiid has agreed to a three-year, $192.9 million maximum contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers, which includes a player option for the 2028-2029 season. This extension brings his total contract value to $301 million over five years, making it one of the three richest totals in NBA history. The former NBA MVP expressed his desire to remain with the 76ers for the rest of his career. Embiid's annual salary over the next five seasons will be $51.4 million in 2024-25, $55.2 million in 2025-26, $59.5 million in 2026-27, $64.3 million in 2027-28, and $69.1 million in 2028-29.
