Hezbollah's Drone Hits Netanyahu's Bedroom Window in Caesarea; Netanyahu Vows Heavy Price
Oct 22, 2024, 11:33 AM
On Saturday, a Hezbollah drone launched from Lebanon penetrated Israel's air defenses and struck Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea, causing damage to the building. Israeli officials confirm the drone hit Netanyahu's home, with reports stating it accurately struck his bedroom window. No casualties were reported, as the Prime Minister was not at the residence at the time. Netanyahu released a video calling the attack an assassination attempt by Iran's proxy Hezbollah, labeling it a 'grave mistake' and declaring that such attempts will not deter him. He vowed that the perpetrators would pay a 'heavy price' and held a series of meetings with top security aides to discuss a response, including potential actions against Iran. Israeli sources allege that the order to launch the drone came directly from Iran and that officials from the Iranian Embassy in Beirut were involved. Hezbollah's media chief, Mohammad Afif, claimed full and sole responsibility for the attack, referring to it as the 'Caesarea operation.' Reports suggest that three Hezbollah drones were directed toward Netanyahu's home, with one exploding at his bedroom window.
