NYC Mayor Eric Adams Indicted on Five Counts Including Bribery
Sep 26, 2024, 02:53 PM
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on multiple federal charges following a corruption investigation. The indictment, unsealed Thursday morning, includes charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, federal program bribery, wire fraud, solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national, and bribery. The investigation, which began in 2021, alleges that Adams and his campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations through straw donors. Adams is the first New York mayor to be criminally charged while in office.
