Diane Daly Denies Responsibility in ArriveCan Scandal, Alleges Senior Officials Pressured False Testimony
Aug 8, 2024, 12:13 AM
Diane Daly, a public servant involved in the ArriveCan controversy, has denied responsibility for issues related to contracting. Daly testified before a committee of MPs, expressing concerns that she might lose her job for providing truthful testimony. She attributed blame for the scandal to senior officials at Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Daly also revealed that CBSA had opened an investigation, which led to her being placed on administrative leave earlier this year. Additionally, she claimed that a director-general instructed her to provide false testimony against her former bosses during a meeting conducted via MS Teams. Daly stated she was following orders on sweetheart contracting.
