Unidentified Drones Over Three US Air Bases in UK; 60 British Troops Deployed Amid 'Sinister' Plot Fears
Nov 26, 2024, 01:44 PM
Unidentified drones have been spotted over three US Air Force bases in the United Kingdom, prompting concerns and the deployment of 60 British troops to assist in the investigation. The drones were detected between November 20 and November 26, including sightings between Wednesday and Friday, and again overnight Monday, over RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and RAF Feltwell, which host US troops and aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets. The US Air Force confirmed the sightings and is actively monitoring the airspace over these bases. Officials are unclear if the drones are hostile but are investigating their origin amid fears it could be part of a coordinated and potentially sinister plot. The drones do not appear to be hobbyist devices and were actively monitored after being seen in the vicinity and over the bases. "We take these threats very seriously," said a US Air Force spokesperson.
