Amber Glenn Wins Gold at 2024 Grand Prix de France
Nov 2, 2024, 02:45 PM
Amber Glenn, the reigning U.S. champion, secured her first-ever Grand Prix title at the Grand Prix de France 2024. She achieved the highest short program score for a U.S. woman in international competition with 78.14 points on Friday, placing her at the top of the leaderboard. Despite a fall, Glenn retained her lead and won the gold medal. Kim Chaeyeon of South Korea and Higuchi Wakaba of Japan rounded out the top three after the short program, while Sumiyoshi Rion of Japan joined Higuchi on the podium after the free skate. Glenn and her coach were ecstatic upon learning of her maiden Grand Prix victory. Additionally, American Andrew Torgashev earned his first senior Grand Prix medal, taking bronze.
