Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei Warns U.S. and 'Zionist Regime' of 'Crushing Response'
Nov 2, 2024, 10:19 AM
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday warned that the United States and the "Zionist regime" would face a "crushing response" over attacks on Iran and its allies. Speaking at a Student's Day event in Tehran, Khamenei said, "The enemies, whether it be the Zionist regime or the United States, should know that they will certainly receive a crushing response for what they do against Iran and the Resistance Front." The "Resistance Front" refers to Iran's network of allied militias and groups in the region. Khamenei's remarks come in response to recent Israeli attacks, including an airstrike on October 26 that reportedly killed at least five people in Iran. The heightened tensions raise concerns of escalating conflict in the Middle East ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
