Putin Gifts 75 Animals, Including Lioness, to North Korea's Pyongyang Zoo
Nov 20, 2024, 03:26 PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted over 75 animals to North Korea's Pyongyang Zoo, including a lioness, two brown bears, yaks, white cockatoos, pheasants, and mandarin ducks. This marks the first time mammals have been sent from Moscow to Pyongyang. The animals were flown from Moscow to Pyongyang as a diplomatic gesture and symbol of friendship between the two nations. Upon arrival, the animals are being quarantined before moving to enclosures after acclimatization, with Russian officials expressing confidence they will receive proper care. North Korean authorities commented that this is 'Vladimir Putin's gift to the Korean people.'
