Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, have expressed readiness to engage with the incoming Trump administration to protect national interests. Pezeshkian stated that Tehran cannot ignore its "arch-foe" and needs to "handle its enemies with forbearance" as Trump prepares for office. Paknejad announced that Iran has made plans to sustain oil production and exports, with "no particular concern in this area," and is prepared for possible oil export restrictions following Trump's election. He emphasized that "necessary measures have been taken." Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani emphasized that Iran will pursue whatever secures the nation's interests, guided by the Supreme Leader and the National Security Council.
