Celestia Launches Lemongrass Upgrade, Achieves 57% Data Posted Relative to Ethereum

Celestia has launched its first major upgrade, Lemongrass, which introduces significant improvements such as one-click interactions over IBC, interchain accounts, faster cross-chain transfers, reduced spam, and better compatibility with Cosmos. The upgrade also includes five CIPs: CIP-6, CIP-9, CIP-10, CIP-14, and CIP-15. This upgrade comes as Celestia is within striking distance of surpassing Ethereum in data availability market share, having achieved 57% of data posted relative to Ethereum. Despite this, Celestia generated only $243 or 1% of the fees relative to Ethereum, making it roughly five times cheaper to post data compared to Ethereum. Utilization of Celestia is currently at 10% of its capacity. Lemongrass is now live on mainnet and includes 1-click actions.
