Suspended Labour Councillor Ricky Jones Pleads Not Guilty to Violent Disorder Charges
Sep 6, 2024, 10:54 AM
Suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones, 57, has pleaded not guilty to encouraging violent disorder at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Jones, a former Dartford councillor, is accused of making inflammatory comments during an anti-racism rally on August 7. He was filmed telling a crowd, 'We need to cut all their throats' in reference to far-right demonstrators. Despite the video evidence, Jones denies the charges and will face a jury trial set for January 20 next year.
