Texas Issues Blue Alert for Seth Altman in Hall County Police Chief Shooting

A Blue Alert was issued early Friday morning for Seth Altman, 33, who is wanted for allegedly shooting Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant in Hall County, Texas. The incident occurred when Chief Plant and another officer attempted to arrest Altman for attempted burglary and attempted capital murder. Altman, described as armed and dangerous, shot Chief Plant multiple times. The Texas Department of Public Safety has launched a statewide manhunt for Altman, who is from Memphis, Texas, located about 80 miles southeast of Amarillo. The alert, which was issued around 4:50 a.m., caused many Texans to be awakened by the emergency notification on their phones.
