Orca Keto Dies at 29 After Killing Trainer and Lifetime in Captivity; Investigation Announced
Nov 26, 2024, 01:45 PM
Keto, a 29-year-old orca that spent its entire life in captivity, has died at Loro Parque in Tenerife. Keto was known for being involved in a fatal incident in 2009 in which it killed one of its trainers. Reports also allege that the orca was forced into incest during its time in captivity. Following Keto's death, Loro Parque has announced that it will conduct an investigation. The case has drawn criticism from animal rights groups, including PETA, which condemned the orca's 'lifetime of exploitation.'
