Disney to Stop Using Salesforce-Owned Slack by End of Year After Major Data Breach
Sep 19, 2024, 09:02 PM
Disney plans to transition away from its use of Slack as a companywide workplace collaboration system following a significant data breach. The hacking group responsible for the breach leaked over a terabyte of company data, including unreleased projects and sensitive communications, in July. The decision to stop using Slack, which is owned by Salesforce, will be implemented by the end of the year. The breach exposed 44 million messages from Disney's Slack server. WSJ reports that the CFO's memo addressed the issue.
