China Successfully Launches Shenzhou-19 Crewed Mission with First Female Engineer

China successfully launched the Shenzhou-19 crewed spaceship on October 30, 2024, at 4:27 a.m. Beijing Time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert. The mission, carried out by a Long March-2F carrier rocket, is China's 14th crewed mission to space. The Shenzhou-19 crew comprises three astronauts: Cai Xuzhe, the commander, Song Lingdong, a first-timer, and Wang Haoze, China's first female space flight engineer and the third Chinese woman to participate in a crewed spaceflight. The crew will conduct 86 space science research and technology experiments during their six-month mission at the Tiangong space station. The launch was confirmed as a complete success by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).
