RFK Jr. Eliminated from Libertarian Presidential Nomination Race with 2% Vote on May 26
May 26, 2024, 04:58 PM
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been eliminated from the race to be the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee for the 2024 election. Despite initially accepting the nomination and making a pitch to Libertarian voters at the Libertarian National Convention on May 26, Kennedy only received 2% of the vote, amounting to 19 delegate votes out of 919 cast. This result placed him eighth out of ten candidates, falling short of the 5% needed to advance. The Libertarian Party convention also saw a feud between Kennedy and former President Donald Trump, who also sought but was denied the nomination. Kennedy's nomination by the Reform Party ensures his ballot access in Florida for the general election.
