Despite becoming the first player in NBA history to achieve 40+ points, 15+ rebounds, 5+ three-pointers, and 4+ blocks in a game, the San Antonio Spurs narrowly lost to the New York Knicks 117-114. Mikal Bridges led the Knicks with a season-high 41 points, including 6 three-pointers and 15 points in the fourth quarter, securing New York's fifth consecutive victory. This game marked the first time since 1961 that opposing players each scored over 40 points in a Christmas Day game. Wembanyama also joined Wilt Chamberlain and Nikola Jokic as the only players with 40+ points and 15+ rebounds on Christmas Day.
