The Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles has agreed to pay a record $880 million to settle childhood sex abuse claims made by more than 1,353 alleged victims. This settlement, which addresses clergy abuse cases dating back to the 1940s, brings the cumulative payouts by the L.A. Catholic Church to over $1.5 billion over the last two decades.
